A point for everyone on score draw Wednesday

Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Guernsey and Uxbridge each had to be happy with a point

We had matches in Pitching In Isthmian South East and South Central last night, and both of them ended up all-square.

In our South East Division Sevenoaks Town, who scored five at Herne Bay on Saturday, were back on their own patch against promotion-chasing Sittingbourne. The Brickies hadn’t suffered a league defeat since August 24th and knew that victory would take them third, seven points behind leaders Beckenham Town with four games in hand, and they started at speed, Liam Smith opening the scoring on eleven minutes. Their hosts hit back in added time at the end of the first half, Jefferson Aibangbee with his eighth goal of the season- all coming in his last ten matches- and as it turned out, that was that. Oaks are thirteenth.

Over the sea in the South Central, Guernsey were the hosts for Uxbridge- and the match kicked off late after fog disrupted the visitors flight, and necessitated a number of attempts at landing, which must have been rather hair raising. The Green Lions came into the match having lost every game on their own patch, but it looked like they were well on their way to a win when Finley Du port and Ross Allen- the latter with his two hundred and ninety eighth Guernsey goal- put them two-nil up at half time. Uxbridge, however, had gone nine games without defeat, and made that ten with a second half comeback, Ada Okorogheye with two goals to earn them a point- the number nine taking his tally for the season into double figures. A late red card for the visitors keeper George Legg- three minutes into added time- came too late for the hosts to take advantage.
