Can the Rams close the gap to one point?
Ramsgate head to Herne Bay, Bears welcome Oaks, and Ashford host Golds on our South East Tuesday
Second place Ramsgate, four points behind leaders Beckenham Town with four games in hand, will hope to begin breathing right down the necks of the current pacesetters as they travel along the coast to Herne Bay. The Rams, now the only unbeaten side in the League, have won twelve of their thirteen matches so far and will expect to make it five wins in a row- and, on the road, a seventh successive win. Bay have been having a tricky time of late, and start the evening in a lowly sixteenth place, having taken only one point from the last fifteen available. The sides meet again only eleven days later, so if either loses tonight they won’t have to wait long for a chance at revenge.
Broadbridge Heath, in fifteenth place, welcome Sevenoaks Town to their corner of Sussex. The Bears have lost five of their last six without really being outplayed in any of them, but have actually been slightly better on the road than on their own patch; whilst Oaks, in eleventh, have also been rather positive on the road. Oaks have been in good form, and have only one defeat from their last seven. Last season’s meetings saw the Bears take all the points.
Finally, Ashford United play host to Littlehampton Town. United are only two points outside the bottom four, and have been desperately inconsistent for the entire campaign so far. They are looking to avoid a sixth successive defeat- although three of those five losses came against sides in the top four, and another came on penalties at Premier Division Lewes. The travelling Golds are looking for a fourth unbeaten match and a third successive victory, and will have fond memories of their win at Homelands last season. That said, both sides managed an away win against the other.
