Phoenix Sports and Three Bridges were both looking for their first points of the season as they met at Mayplace. Bridges had won five of the previous six meetings between the sides, including both of last season’s encounters, and it looked like they had another victory after an Elliott Romain first half double put them in control, but a red card just before the hour for Ridden Euba, who remarkably had only been on the pitch two minutes, gave Sports hope. The hosts got a goal back with seventeen minutes left, Joe Thomas giving the home fans something to cheer, and they were cheering even more loudly when Thomas levelled four minutes later. That was how the scoring ended.
